We are a day nursery setting which is privately owned by Mr Neil and Mrs Jane Frisby, based in Bishopswood on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border.

We operate with three classrooms in a self contained extension to a private family home.

A maximum 47 children attend all of whom share access to a secure [enclosed] outdoor play area. The nursery is based in an idyllic countryside setting which we take full advantage of and in which we have great pride.

Our opening times are from 7:30am till 6pm for 51 weeks of the year for children from 3 months to 5 years.

We have three units within our nursery:

Baby Unit – 3 months to 18mths/2years

Toddler Room – 18mths/2 years to 3 years

Pre-School unit for children aged 3 – 5 years

We pride ourselves on the children having a happy, but fulfilled day, with each room having their own routine, following the E.Y.F.S (Early Years Foundation Stage) system who we work very closely with to maintain the birth to five curriculum, which is running very smoothly.

Mrs Frisby is keen for the nursery to be a homely environment and all staff are known as Aunties. The staff are highly qualified and motivated who all attend courses to continue their professional development.

  • Four trained to Level 3
  • Two trained to Level 4
  • One currently studying a Foundation Degree in Early Years Educations and subsequently a BA Honours
  • SENCO – Special Educational Needs Coordinator – The nursery has appropriate systems in place to support children with Learning Difficulties, Disabilities and English as an Additional Language.
  • Safeguarding Officer – working with parents and children
  • All Staff are paediatric first aid trained
  • Trained MAKATON sign language staff able to offer support to children and also incorporated into our daily curriculum.

Our staff are all committed and loyal to the successful running of the nursery and the care of the children which has meant that there has been consistency for the children with little turnover of staff.

Children that attend the nursery come from a wide catchment area as most parents travel into work on or around surrounding towns.

We have children from five months to under 5 years registered with correct early educational funding in place.
